It’s heart-warming to know that just the possibility of an Exclusive Brethren contingent flying around New Zealand in a large chartered jet is news-worthy. After years of “flying beneath the radar” the Exclusive Brethren are being watched increasingly carefully – and rightly so!
Questions are being asked about Tax-Exemption, Property Deals, School Planning and the huge amount of government funding that is assisting the growth of their separatist education model. And then there is the matter of broken families, missing years, psychological damage and the sad impact following decades of abusive teachings.
Many hope that soon the Watching will stop … and the Investigation will begin.

Well here’s a thing! Do you remember when the Exclusive Brethren hired a private detective to dig up dirt on Helen Clark and her husband in New Zealand? It was of course an astonishing revelation regarding a group that was only just beginning to become noticed back in 2005.
They described themselves as Christian … and yet the private eye outrage was only just one of a series of smear tactics and gutter political techniques that the Exclusive Brethren planned, executed and/or funded. Within 12 months they rightly became political pariahs.
An easily-missed news report raises consciousness once more – and one has to ask the question – who would benefit the most if the stolen investigation papers were to … disappear?

In an interesting admission, Bob Clarkson states: “150 Exclusive Brethren helped him” in his 2005 election bid. This is particularly interesting because the EB went to great lengths at the time to state that the ‘Secret Seven’ businessmen of that era were acting solely on their own initiative.
At the time in 2005, this site and others spoke of an international campaign that was coordinated from Sydney, Australia by the leader of the Exclusive Brethren, Bruce Hales. Millions of dollars were raised internationally by the Exclusive Brethren in ‘special collections’. This money was then used to fund the various smear advertising and other Exclusive Brethren political activities in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA and the UK.
Bob Clarkson is helping the Truth be told – it was not just seven New Zealand businessmen! It was the entire Exclusive Brethren sub-culture – obeying orders as usual from their leader.
The Exclusive Brethren lied about their involvement – quite outrageously. And now, with new allegations of criminal activity hitting New Zealand and Australian headlines, it would be a mistake to assume they are telling the truth.
Thank you Bob for coming clean.

Exclusive Brethren world leader visits NZ in secrecy
Sunday Star Times
New Zealand
The World Leader of the Exclusive Brethren made an unpublicised visit to New Zealand last week, arriving on Wednesday, amid strict security, to a large meeting of faithful in Wellington. The secretive Bruce Hales, known to Exclusive Brethren as the Elect Vessel or Mr Bruce, travelled in a black, tinted-window SUV and was screened from media by hired security guards and Brethren volunteers.
Hales’ visit, only three or four months before this year’s election, is a reminder of the Exclusive Brethren’s controversial involvement in the 2005 election. It is unclear yet whether they intend to repeat that in the coming election. Continue reading »

A news article published today in New Zealand highlights one of the most outrageous and frankly, stupid projects the Exclusive Brethren ever funded during their laughable ‘political’ enterprises in the last NZ elections.
When the book is finally written on the political impact of a cult living separated from society whose then new leader (Australian Bruce D. Hales) arbitrarily decided during 2004 to throw bushel-loads of money in ‘supporting’ selected political figures, the names of their ‘chosen’ immediately tell the tale:
- George Bush
- Donald Brash
- John Howard

It seems that the Exclusive Brethren in New Zealand are feeling “superior”. In just 5 years, the number of Exclusive Brethren kids in Exclusive Brethren schools has more than trebled. Superficially, everything is wonderful, but if you dig between the lines in a news story like this one from The Press – Exclusive Brethren schools treble rolls a number of rather disturbing truths emerge.
We shall attempt to throw some light on this story – as always with the Exclusive Brethren, nothing is what it seems.

Education drives EB voting in NZ
An interesting New Zealand blog today that highlights some of the reasons that the Exclusive Brethren probably broke with tradition and actually voted during the recent elections there. As always in today’s Exclusive Brethren, it was a matter of money …
