Isn't it sad that somewhere in the EB there could well be a young girl or boy who, having looked through their latest, must-have, coffee-table book Flood, Horror and Tragedy, feels inspired to one day join the ranks of the often brave and heroic rescue services but know in their hearts that it will not be possible due to the supposed Christian religion they are in.

There is no greater demonstration of devotion, no greater sacrifice of love, than to lay down your life for another. John 10:11 says, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

Lacking in education, lacking in training, unable to commit to anything other than the 07.30-16.30 EB work timetable, some of the many and varied reasons these poor kids will never get further than pushing a pen or a sack barrow in a greedy EB's business.

Leave at your first opportunity. I waited till I was 32, but in the meantime have achieved so many ambitions and goals I once thought were out of reach. How I wish I'd left earlier !

WW is dead right you know. I was withdrawn from for walking away from what I viewed as desperate options - being forced to work for Peeb businesses. The jobs were dead end -leading nowhere -just lining the pockets of greedy, rude , ignorant Peeb bosses. And didn't they love to keep you in your place. In total desperation - I woke up one day and said - I can't do this anymore. The brother I was working for was a pig of a man - by both Brethren and worldly standards. But to seek decent work with future possibilities - you had to leave. Which I did. I was withdrawn from on the spot. 18 years old.

Months later - I was reinstated -to being shut up- because someone reasoned that I had not actually done anything wrong. Which was true. The priests turned up on my doorstep. "Come back! You don't have to work for us....you could.....mow lawns for example!" I remember my response. "As much as I love to mow a decent lawn -I mean what man doesn't - the concept of this being a lifetime career flies in the face of the genetics that I have been born with. I'm sorry -but I have challenges and goals within me that would not be sated by pushing a Briggs and Stratton around all day. I just know that at about the three week mark -I am going to go crazy." This did not please them. Their ace had been rejected.

I say to every young Peeb. Go forth and see what greatness you can acheive. It's something you will never achieve in the Brethren.

Many congratulations, Dario. You are an inspiration to your peers. Other young EB's take heart, you are probably talented too, more than you might ever know.

To # 20759: Excellent! I like to mow MY lawn and do a pretty good job of it, if I don't say so myself! I have been away from the peebs for a little while and I think I can honestly say that my deepest regret is that I didn't leave when I was much younger; say, like 18.

Peeb businesses are stepping up the ante!

I mentioned a while ago I was rude to a representative of a peeb business who rang me and since then I have been swamped with emails from other peeb businesses (I actually find this quite funny and a credit to these poor suppressed people that they are able to make some fun in their lives.) Now instead of just having a reference to the book on the email footer I'm getting direct advertisements, like this one this morning.

[This peeb business] Supports “The Flood Horror & Tragedy” Publication raising vital funds for charity!
A unique first-hand publication exploring in striking dimension the experiences of queensland's flood disaster - the excruciating depths of horror and suffering. The immeasurable height of human courage and will to survive; and the overwhelming breadth of support that poured in and surrounded the victims of this horror and tragedy.
    • 76 Captivating stories direct from the victims accompanied by photographic footage of their loss.
    • 344 page hard cover book created by volunteers.
    • 100% or publishers profits got to the Red Cross & Other charity organisations
    • Informative Flood Facts on each affected location.
    • Educational information on weather patterns and water storage.
ONLY $49.95 – DO YOUR BIT FOR CHARITY!!!
An Awesome corporate gift idea – reward your staff, customers, suppliers! They won’t be disappointed!
Help re-build the shattered lives of flood victims

This is a freaking con. Peebs.Net have been pushing the kiwi OneFocus stuff, right? Well you look at the offerings in there and you will see that these con artists are pushing the disaster-porn books with a discount for bulk orders. The Broose has obviously given front-row pops for those who sell the mostest? So these cult indoctrinated idiots are trying to do the JW thing and sell the Watchtower crap.

Can someone in Australia find out from the Red Cross just what the deal is - are they aware of the deal, and do they know what they are getting out of it (as opposed to the "& other charity organisations)? Could be interesting information?

Yes, they are certainly saturating Queensland with leaflets and flyers about the floods. I am running into them everywhere. I just wonder why they dont do a TV ad?

(But Bruce is working on it - he managed garage door openers, faxes, cell phones, digital cameras and computers so far)

I saw a copy of this book for sale (full price) at a stall market last week - there was a hand-written note claiming that approximately $9 of the purchase price goes to Red Cross. I'm kicking myself for not asking the stall-holder to explain this claim further.

Why not ring the Red Cross administration and enquire about donations from the sale of the book.

Reckon the books are dear at $49.95! The young chap, when he spoke had winey breath! So sad.

I guess there are peebs in Hervey Bay (Queensland, Australia) right?

Walked into a hotel at the weekend to check in and was confronted by a stand of leaflets - yes, "Queensland Flood Horror and Tragedy".

A deep and meaningful with the hotel manager followed!

I wish I had time to visit the other 30 hotels in the area. I suspect I would have found the same (and more deep and meaningfuls to go with it).

But an interesting experience on Sunday at the Hervey Bay Boat Club. Three very Brethreny-like 'sisters' came in - looked like peebs, dressed like peebs, except their long hair was put up in buns or rolls. Rentons? But in a licenced club on a Sunday?? Weird.

In Maryborough there is a meeting. I'm not saying they were brethren 'cos on a Sunday sounds unlikely unless it was evening and they were unmarried. Apart from that they would be too busy with doing what they have to do.
But the sistren do wear their hair very different in public to what was compulsory about 30 years ago so don't go by that.
They would be pushing the boundaries if they were peebs! Good on them.

This may be the case but I wonder how much profit the copyright owner's make - P & F Association of Agnew School Inc. - and where that ends up?
