Kevin Rudd & the Exclusive Brethren – a strange brew

In an extraordinary turnaround that says far more about Kevin Rudd than it does the Exclusive Brethren, The Australian reports that the Australian Prime Minister has fallen for the blatant courtship conducted by the cult over the past few weeks.

The EB had to protect their school funding at any cost – which this time meant they had to also change political allegience. When it comes to dollars, the Exclusive Brethren will always follow the wind.

To quote Bruce Hales – “Where’s the ‘Quid Pro Quo’?”

Kevin Rudd allows secret talks with ‘cult’

Kevin Rudd appears to have made peace with the Exclusive Brethren, whom he publicly derided as an “extremist cult” in his run to The Lodge, by allowing for secret talks between church and government representatives.

In the lead-up to the election campaign, the Exclusive Brethren actively lobbied then prime minister John Howard but was given short shrift by Mr Rudd.

The Labor leader publicly attacked the church, labelling it an extremist cult that “breaks up families”.

The ALP called on four federal agencies to investigate its activities and went to great lengths to avoid contact with the church.

The Exclusive Brethren, which two years ago hired PR firm Jackson Wells Morris to help counter bad press, still wanted a relationship with the new government and in March made representations to Mr Rudd’s then chief of staff, David Epstein.

In a letter obtained by The Australian using Freedom of Information laws, a senior church member complained to Mr Epstein about continuing “ill-informed comment” by the media and disaffected church members about the Exclusive Brethren.

“This has led, amongst other things, to the church being falsely labelled as ‘shadowy’ and ‘secretive’,” the letter states.

“Given this situation, and statements made last year by Mr Rudd that in his view we are ‘an extremist cult’, we understand that Labor Party ministers feel they cannot meet with us because of the political ramifications of doing so. This disappoints us a great deal but, as I say, we understand it.

“It is a sad outcome that these criticisms have led to our church being effectively cut off from meaningful representation at the political level.”

The name of the author was deleted.

The letter, which requested a meeting with a government representative, was delivered with a 14-page briefing note from church leader Bruce Hales.

Exclusive Brethren spokesman Daniel Hales yesterday confirmed Mr Epstein had replied in terms that were satisfactory to the church.

It is understood Mr Epstein suggested the Sydney-based Exclusive Brethren leaders meet their local member, parliamentary secretary Maxine McKew.

Neither the Prime Minister’s office nor the church would release Mr Epstein’s response.

“This was a private letter between the church and the Prime Minister’s office,” Daniel Hales said in a brief statement.

Ms McKew, a staunch Catholic and former journalist, has refused to speak to The Australian about the Exclusive Brethren and any meetings that may have taken place.

In May, Mr Rudd, an Anglican, made it clear he would notsupport a parliamentary inquiry into the Exclusive Brethren, believing it would interfere with people’s rights to religious freedom.

In September, a parliamentary committee took the unusual step of allowing the Exclusive Brethren to respond to the Greens’ attacks on their activities, incorporating the church’s response into Hansard.

The getting into bed with Kevin by this cult will be no supprise to those who know the inner workings of evil that motivate this group. MONEY is the main motivation of the Hales family and no rule should stand in the way of getting more money. John Hales told me himself that every rule has exceptions?(of course the directive for exception can only be given by “The Elect vessel”)
Kevin07 will no doubt be gone so soon, as have all the other politicians that have shown shown bad judgment and been sucked in by these evil people.
Perhaps it is because honesty is not high on the list of credentials that so many in politics can not see through the lies spoken and lived by the Exclusive Brethern?

So, the Exclusive Brethren Church representatives feel discomforted about being recognised as a “shadowy…secretive….extremist cult”. Neither are they happy that the ALP “went to great lengths to avoid contact with the church”. They think that such “ill-informed comment” (has)”…led to our church being effectively cut off from meaningful representation….” Could this be described as political withdrawal authorised by a higher authority? Shame!

Kevin Rudd was correct when he derided the Exclusive Brethren as an “extremist cult” that “breaks up families”. Only two things have changed. Political grovelling is now directed toward the ALP government, and the church PR effort has been increased.

Does Kevin Rudd still recognise this cult for what it is? John Howard failed to do so!

Come into my parlour said the spider to the fly……

Greetings to the TAYLOR-HALES EXCLUSIVE BRETHREN and blessings for 2009 another year in God’s patient grace.
The call to Heaven is this “oh Lord of all things could this be the Year of Jubilee for these imprisoned believers when by your merciful activity they will be released and have opened eyes to search for authentic Christianity and evangelical zeal.? Open hearts, consciences and doors Oh Father of mercies. For the glory of your Son, Jesus the Christ and Head of the Church.
    AMEN AND AMEN.

I think Kevin Rudd will be best to avoid this cult. I work for an Exclusive Brethren owned firm and have managed to gain an insite in the cult.
I too feel they are obsessed with money.
The anti media doctrine create a narrow and wildly distorted view of the world. I have had to fight long and hard to preserve the most basic of employment rights.

It feels me with utter revulsion and disgust to hear anything about this group. I spent the first five years of my life in their midst, and they have all but destroyed my family. Their influence is subtle but extremely powerful, a dark force on this earth. I am not being melodramatic saying this. Obsession with money is nothing compared to what they do to the human mind. They riddle the mind with delusive divisive thoughts. I don’t believe in Satan, but if i did, he would be an exclusive brethren
