The brethren that took part in or covered up the rape of young men(one was raped with a beer bottle and died FACT) in Adelaide SA have relocated to Albany WA.They ignore local government and build churches and schools when and where they want.A local brethren cult member bragged they chose albany for the weak and easily corrupted local government and as a staging piont in moving ten million aus in tything and other scams each month.Thats 120 million/year.1.2 billion in the past decade.Their not a religion just plain gangsters,at least other crime crews have the balls to own it.have you ever heard of a paedophile in the mafia or biker nations?If they ever existed they probably dont anymore.all religions should be deemed criminal organizations have assets seized and banned from meeting if they have criminal members just like anyone else.I would trust any crew or nation over any church or religion!anyway as for the brethren rapist paedophile cult in albany we have a saying for your kind “hunt the hunters watch the watchers and prey on predators” hope to see you soon.

@nobody: We have to assume that you are referring to either the newspaper article that this post represents or to Michael Bachelard’s book. If the first, Petrie was found guilty as the news report accurately recounts. In the second, Bachelard painstakingly researched his material for his excellent book – you will find all references in the publication.

Can we have some links to any convictions in a court of law? Unfortunately all I see here are accusations without proof. If this were on Wikipedia, it would be removed immediately. Weasel words and ad hominem attacks do not help your position to an objective reader.

The exclusive Brethren, as with many other churches, think they are beyond reproach, and completely above the law.
If you really want to know what is going on, I recomend that you read the Michael Bachelard book on the Exclusive Brethren, and read the chapter on what occurred in Albury in the 1990′s. It is utterly shameful and disgusting, and bears a remarkable resemblance to what has happened here in New Zealand. The only reason the brethren are sorry, is that they have been caught with their pants down, both literally and metaphorically, and it is not a good look. This also goes back to Aberdeen, where a similar incident was also covered up.

The exclusive’s never taught the importance of upholding the law and never respected the judicial process. They taught that the exclusive church was the greatest law on earth…once proclaiming one person innocent that the law of the land had convicted and sent to jail….you may still find it in print. Yes they consider it abhorrent to get caught by law inforcement officers, but have consistantly covered up sexual,verbal, moral and physical abuse.
If all these abuses were to be stamped out of that group the whole hierarchy would crumble. In Brucies own words “the whole recovery hindges on the purity of the late James Taylor Jnr. If he only was to face the facts about JTJnr and his abuse he would realise the recovery that he is fantasising about is already finished.
