Powerscourt Estate, Ireland
The Plymouth Brethren have several contenders for the title of Founder and Early Church Father. There is however probably only one woman who would fill the role of ‘Mother of the Church‘. Lady Theodosia Wingfield Powerscourt was a young and wealthy widow, and like Darby, was a member of the Anglo-Irish aristocracy in the early 19th century. Viscountess Powerscourt was a powerful advocate in the formative years of the movement that became known as the Plymouth Brethren.
J.N. Darby, recognized as one of the founders of the Plymouth Brethren, was a very close friend of Lady Powerscourt. It is believed that they at one time planned to marry but mutually decided that their lives were headed in different directions. Some say that they were ‘dissuaded’ by other members of the early Plymouth Brethren.
Lady Powerscourt has been described as a young, beautiful and wealthy widow – but she was certainly a deeply spiritual woman, using the palatial Powerscourt estate to host Prophecy Conferences – which were attended by both JND and Edward Irving.
It was at one of these Conferences when Darby announced his theories regarding the ‘Rapture of the Church’, a dramatic end-times scenario that is adhered-to by millions of evangelical Christians to this day.
The cultural world of Lady Powerscourt was also the world of John Nelson Darby and her letters and papers provide valuable insights into the minds and attitudes of the early founders of the Plymouth Brethren.
Both born in 1800, Lady Powerscourt never remarried and died in 1836. John Darby never married and would live until 1882.
THE PLYMOUTH OR MORE ACCURATELY EXCLUSIVE BRETHREN HAVE FOLLOWED A SPURIOUS SLOGAN ‘separation from evil God’s principle of unity’ wholly contrary to apostolic teaching, binding on all christians who may have varied interpretations, modes of worship and Church guidance, all found in the book of Acts and all believable, bear and forbear being the key to unity and some following Apollos, some Cephas some Paul and some claiming to follow only Christ but all one in Christ Jesus.
So misleading has the ‘separation doctrine’ been that the Exclusive Brethren now exclude each other!!!!!!! Their flawed slogan has led them into approx twelve s[plintered sects who almost hate each other. They refuse to mix stating that the others are all ‘associated with evil’ will not attend funerals hel din each others’ meeting rooms, do not invite to join in their ‘fellowship meetings’ and may at a pinch attend a graveside ceremony but NEVER in the Brethren Hall, do not intermarry now do they venture, in many cases to speak.
It has become manifestly the case that only one then is the truly ‘separated elect to the Lord. and the others are ‘not with the truth’ some ago old judgment keeping them apart and suspicious of the others. Their blind adherence to the presumed ability to be clear of evil has led them into another evil from which they require to change their thinking entirely . If only they could evaluate the error of the flawed idea that they are the only ones who do not live in and with evil and realise that the Lord has reserved to Himself thousands, yea millions who have not bowed the knee to Baal nor kissed his image. Were it even the case that one little group was truly the ‘right company’ the work of Christ and His shepherding would be seen to be in vain. Awake Exclusive Brethren and face the truth that you have been, for generations, deceived by error and spiritual pride and sadly need eyesalve to wahs your eyes and be led by Scripture and not by s slogan conceived by the mind of man in the things of God.
Is there any sign that the TAYLOR-HALES Brethren mean to repay huge grants drawn from the Australian Exchequer or will the law officers call them into court to further judicial exposure?
It is entirely within the Lord’s rightful atonement to collect the huge funds Himself showing the sect members if they will see it that He is ON THE THRONE and judges righteously in matters where they significantly do not. How will they stand at the JUDGEMENT SEAT OF THE CHRIST?NOT ONE JOT OR TITTLE IS IGNORED. TAYLOR-HALES people take note and respond in penitence-the Lord is near.
