The Australian government is now openly funding Exclusive Brethren schools with public money. Why is this significant? Because the schools are not open to the public – Australian tax-payers cannot send their children to an EB school, even if they wanted to.
The only non-Exclusive Brethren kids in EB schools are children of the non-EB teachers they are forced to hire because of the Exclusive Brethren ban on university education. This in itself begs the question:
Why would tax-payers want to fund an intentional restriction of a child’s future?
No Exclusive Brethren child is allowed to fulfill their destiny through university education. And yet Kevin Rudd is funding the perpetuation of what amounts to an infringement of human rights! Read all »

One of the largest payments into the Exclusive Brethren ‘indoctrination’ schools came not from the mega-wealthy leaders of the cult, but from the Australian government – or to be more accurate, from the hard-working Australian tax-payers.

No comfort for Exclusive Brethren in PM’s response to submission
In a letter received this week, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd acknowledges the concerns raised with him by former members of the Exclusive Brethren.
Ex-member spokesman Peter Flinn said it was clear from the Prime Minister’s letter that his views have not changed from those stated last year when he described the Exclusive Brethren as an “extremist cult and sect” whose activities “break up families”.
Mr Rudd was responding to a submission on behalf of 33 Brethren ex-members from around the world. He said he remains concerned about the Brethren’s “reported imposition of doctrines that weaken family bonds.” Read all »
