Hazel would like to know if anyone has any information regarding Joy Stanley of Croydon.
She is the daughter of the late David Stanley and his wife Margaret. She has a brother called
Andrew. We understand that she has left the Taylor system. If anyone could help regarding
this I would be grateful. She would remember me as Hazel Parker and that I used to live at a
house backing on to her's
Our telephone number is 01903 203317.
We would be glad of any help in trying to find her, for if she is out of that System she needs
all the christian love and help she can get.

We were pointed to your website by an unsolicited mail shot containing information about the exclusive brethren culled from your website.
We are all able to understand our neighbours strange and sullen behaviour and feel pity for their young folk.
We pray for their redemption.

I am not nor have i ever been a member of the Bretheran. I used to live in a small town
in WA where the town was basically run by Plymouth Bretheran. While i lived there, i
heard so many rumours and heartbreaking stories about rules and ex members etc that
i didn't know what was true and what was gossip. It seems that it was all true. This is a
very interesting site, especially for someone like me from a very catholic background
who now considers herself to be more pagan than anything else.
I think you are all very brave people and i wish you all the luck, love and happiness in the world. Merry Christmas to one and all. :)

I am the youngest son of HB & GH Reynolds of Geelong Victoria.
Was withdrawn from in 1963 at the age of 18. Had no job at the time but found one soon after. I was told I would go from bad to worse which I have not of course as I am now a JP for NSW since 1977. I have been in NSW since 1965 and have worked the steelworks in Wollongong up to now. Married 2 times with a daughter to the first marriage. Now married to Fiji girl for 10 years. Do not have any contact with any church as the past turned me off. Have 2 sisters out as well and both have been married. Anyone who knows me or my family can contact me or any one who likes to talk of past experiences with this dreadful sect that sadly is still going strong. I don't live in the past but like to talk who I know and make new friends who have been in it and I don't know.

Some time since we've visited this site, so renewed greetings in Christ to all who know us.
We had great news this week, with another little bundle of joy, our third child Estelle Lauren, who arrived on Thursday. Estelle joins our two other children, Lloyd and Annabelle, (all under 3 years old), and together they will ensure Mum and Dad are kept busy......
Meanwhile, awaiting the imminent coming of our Lord and Saviour.
With love to all.

Thank you Dick for creating and keeping up to date this web site. I was raised in Birmingham England.
My family, except my brother left the Jims after the infamous Aberdeen 3 days meetings. I have since
emigrated to Canada, have married a God fearing Christian man and have four kids. In the 23 years I
have lived in Peterborough, I have never met anyone who knew what "Exclusive Brethren" are - they
always think I am talking about the "Chapel" down the road or the "tight" Brethren. It is not that I want
to live in the past, but to find this web site and "talk" to people who know is a breath of fresh air! Is
there anyone out there who lives in Peterborough, Ontario? There was a man who signed the guest
book, a D. Haley, but his e-mail address has changed.
What would you think about creating a prayer list? Would we have too many names on it, and it become too cumbersome? Just a thought! Keep up the good work, and god bless you,
Hilary Tyne

HI,
My parents are Peter and Rebecca Cox, once former members of the E.B, my mother's maiden name is Joyce. I was born into the brethren, but we left when I was four, so I have no memories of it. I am currently studying Year 12, and I am looking for any information, or pictures, to do with the brethren. As I am studying Society and Culture as one of my subjects. And I have to complete a "Personal Interest Topic", that relates to society. So I have of course chosen the religion "Exclusive Plymouth Brethren". I have to send my PIP to markers in Sydney in August. So I haven't mcuh time. The mark I recieve from my PIP is concluded into my overall UAI (University Admission Index). SO I would greatly appreciate it, if you forward any information. Especially pictures, as I have great difficulty in finding any to my email address. Or if you email me, you can forward them to my home address, which I will give you. And of course I will return the pictures in the same condition you sent them.
Regards,
Brookie Cox

I was withdrawn from by the EBs in '83 I consider this to be when I REALLY started LIVING .
I've no regrets even though I didn't leave of my own accord. I was never, could never be happy
leading such a stagnant existence. Saying goodbye to my family was hardest and I still think of
them often and fondly. My new life is rewarding and fullfilling and I share it with a partner who
is totally accepting and understanding, which helps the healing process immensely. Through this
site I've just recently rediscovered an uncle whom I last saw in '63! It's been a fabulous
experience catching up with him and I'm looking forward to renewing more acquaintances.
Thanks Heaps for this site.

I Now live in Toronto Canada.
Was interested to learn about the PB because of a friend back in Jamaica. She and her husband are both still in, along with her extended family. I was alarmed to find out that they are starting their own kindergarten to Grade 13 school system. Isolated even further from others, how will they ever begin to shake free? Talk about mind-control, from cradle to grave. Their schools are of course open only to the chosen ie PB members.
We her friends were not invited to her wedding. Now I understand why we were not allowed to take part in it. At the time we were told our invitations got lost in the mail.
It really surprised me to find out so late that she is part of that cult. She was always a very down to earth, sensible person with a sharp mind, the kind of person who would think for herself. But when you are born and raised into something, and dissent is stifled if not punished, and your whole life is spent in a controlled world, and all your loved ones are part of it and would be removed from you if you dissented, well I understand it isn't as easy as that. Only you who experienced the PB can really understand.
I pray for her, and take comfort that at least she is happy, and she still keeps in touch with me, even knowing that I belong to a denominational church and haven't seen the error of my ways!
BTW, I heard secondhand that the plan is to eventually eschew technology completely, like the Luddites. Taken to the extreme (which we know is quite possible!) they may return to the land, living by plow and ox I guess. I only hope we never see any mass suicides, like in cults that have gone before.
All those rules about what is and isn't allowed - I am admittedly shaky on Scripture, but didn't Christ complain about burdens being put on the people's backs by their spiritual leaders, Mt 23:4?

My parents are Roger and Marian Petri. They live in Oakland CA. My sister Beverly Petri and
my brother George Petri have "signed" the guest book above.
I was only 7 in 1962 when my family left the PB's, so because of my age at that time I really am ignorant of a lot of the past history of the PB's, although I have had many unanswered questions about the Plymouth Brethern answered already by material in this website.
I am blessed to be serving God happily here in Acworth GA. I have a precious Christian wife (raised in the Southern Baptist church) and she loves the Lord too. We are separated right now, but I am pleased to say we are working hard at a reconciliation soon. I found a great independent Baptist church and am very active there. What a difference from the experiences shared in this website! God has been so good to me.

Hi! My wife and I came out of the E.B's in 1970, after the Aberdeen matter. I am now a pastor in the Assemblies
of God, after fellowshipping for some years in an Open meeting. We are actively involved in missions and have
ministered several times in the Philippines.
We have two sons and one daughter (and 3 grand-children). All our family are very much followers of the Lord Jesus and are actively involved in church life.
It's interesting that the Brethren taught us not to [not be] too concerned with the Asian people as they would come into blessing later. However we are now seeing thousands of Asians coming to Christ every day. In fact, there are now more people coming to the Lord than ever before in human history. Praise the Lord!
I would welcome hearing from any EX's who are interested in missions.
My wife and I plan to visit the Philippines this April and perhaps Thailand.

Hello, my name is Brad, I attend Northside bible fellowship
in Calgary, formally Northhill gospel hall and properties
Christian assmbly. Not all PB churchs are rigid and backward
ours is a fairly good mix, of tradition and modern concepts
of course having Christ as the main focus.

Although there are a few Tuffins in the EB's I have never been a member nor has any of my immediate family
There is one connection though. If anyone has heard of the Browning's of Kings Somborne then I am related to them. My grandmother was a Browning but not a PB or EB, I knew of them as their meeting hall was across the road from me and all dad's cousins and uncles went there, always stopped and spoke and I even remember spending a holiday on one of their farms. Then Jim Taylor came over from the USA and they changed completely so I have first hand experience of what they are like. I think the ones that have left are very courageous for doing so and would like to wish them all the best.

Have become very involved in the hospice movement over the past 15 years. Founded the ELLENOR Foundation in Dartford
in 1985 (named after my parents Ellen and Norman Perolls) and Hospice Casa Sperantei in Brasov Romania in 1992.

I left EB in 1978, having been 'shutup' at 17. Not wanting to continue to live a life of fear, repression and oppression, I decided
that the option of living in a different world and culture was the only option. My sister, aged 15 followed soon after. A brother
who had left in 1973 and a sister in 1968 were around, albeit in body and not spirit. The last twenty years have been a great
learning experience and challenge and I believe that it has only been Gods help which has allowed me to assimilate and give
to my family and society. At times we need other EB's to touch base with and to remind ourselves of how far we have come.
My parents and other 5 siblings remain in the EB and it is sad when I see them in the distance and know that they will never
know the freedom and love which God has given us to pass onto others.
I would say that my upbringing has made me a stronger and a fairly independent person, and that it has only been the working through of this situation which has allowed me to develop to the person God originally intended me to be.
