Date & Comments: December 11th 1997. Thank you for this website. I do not want to go into history too much but I would like to hear from anyone anywhere who is either out of the Jims or any other fellowship for that matter and who is genuinely interested in the Truth of Scripture to contact me. Yes, I was in Aberdeen in 1970 and had a very close eye on the happenings there. That system has thankfully been judged by any right thinking believers in our Lord Jesus. I believe that support and education is needed but firstly prayer for further deliverance for the thousands who are still entangled in it. With the "Renton" fellowship and very happy indeed. Moved to Vancouver from Aberdeen Scotland about 2 years ago. Small company here. Would like to see more! Particularly interested in links with New Zealand and Australia. also Great Britain. Thanks again.

Date & Comments: 13/12/97: I love your web site! And I'm very interested in your comments about the difficulty of really getting out of fundamentalist religious groups likening them to "cults". I agree wholeheartedly. I grew up in a fundamentalist baptist home and only in recent years have been able to rid myself of some unnamed "guilt". I believe I am more loving and "Christ like" and spiritual than my parents and sister ever were. But I do not attend church, I think for myself argue! (didn't God forbid that?) I find it very difficult even yet because despite my education and success as a person my parents can find nothing to respect in me because I do not attend church. It hurts. And reaffirms for me that there is something wrong with the fundamentalist "cult". God must look down upon all this and shake his head. All the best to you as you continue in your inner searching and I in mine. Carol B.

Guest E-mail: qnorm@netcom.ca
Date & Comments: December 25 1997: After a telephone call from my nephew Mark Gillingham whose name is mentioned in your present listing I would like to add my name to the list. My wife (Joyce) and I left the fellowship in 1960 from Swansea Wales following the 1959 London meetings and the issue of "eating" with direct family members. We have no interest in being disruptive or antagonistic. But we do have an interest in sharing our experiences in a helpful and practical way -- as we all await our Lord's return. Yours very truly Reg Shaughnessy

Date & Comments: 31/12/97: Have recently left a cult whose founding member is Mervyn Heal who obtained certain notoreity in EB's in Victoria, Australia, leaving them in the 1960's. The group which now spans three states of Australia is deliverance-oriented; the main emphasis being on demonic forces afflicting the believer.

Guest E-mail: qnorm@netcom.ca
Date & Comments: 1-01-98--My wife (Joyce) and I parted company with the Brethren in 1960/61 following
the conflict between JT Jnr and Mr. Cowell and the subject of eating with ones non-member
relatives. Our meeting was Swansea and all my direct family are still in the meeting in various
locations throughout the UK.
My uncle of the same name was a "ministering brother" as was my uncle, the late AWG Turner of
Calne in Wiltshire UK. The position we take is that the Lord knows those that are his and it
is not our role to damage the faith of any believer whether they are still "in" or out of that
particular fellowship. We have consequently been used to minister to those who have been bound
in confusion and a sense of loss over some of these painful and abrupt change of circumstances.
We are available as our Lord directs to any who wish to contact us here in
Toronto. . .Reg Shaughnessy.

Date & Comments: January 30, '98. I think this website is very important because people
need to educate themselves on oppresive subjects such as these. My family has been
through all of this and luckily we've all stayed together (except one sister).
Good luck to all of those with similar experiences and may you all find the peace
and happiness you deserve. Keep faith in Jesus Christ.

it has even been painful for me to read and try to understand what some of you have endured.
I would like to hear from any relatives or any who know about the Deayton family. I would
appreciate any contact. Please, don't lose heart, our God is a loving God and he is
watching and waiting, wanting to liberate others in His truth. I pray that the comfort
of the Holy Spirit will provide peace and hope to all.

Date & Comments: 15th February 1998. Evangelical Church Pastor interested in history of EB's.
Attended Gospel meeting as a rare visitor at one back in 1988. Have copies of Goodbye
Beloved Brethren and Don't call me sister but would welcome any other
information. Thank you for this site - absolutely fascinating.
I might add, in order to
be allowed to attend a Gospel meeting, I had to submit to an interview - held at the
home of leading brethren in that Assembly. Would I be one of the few in recent years
amongst "outsiders" to be allowed in to a meeting?

Date & Comments: 3/3/98: I was there...born into PB4s and came of age during
the regime of James Taylor, Jr. Left, mercifully, in July, 1969. Am
delighted to see this website. It lends dubious credibility when I try
to explain so many things about my past to my husband and child.
Thanks to the authors and those who put this together. I have
relatives still in there, including those of my parents' generation.
We continue to pray for their deliverance.

Date & Comments: 3/3/98: Seeking to call on the name of the Lord Jesus out of a
pure heart, walking in all separation with other like minded indiviudals.
Much enjoyed currently amongst those we walk with relating to God's vast
and eternal thoughts for us "The latter glory of this house shall be
greater than the former", whilst awaiting the coming of our Lord and
Saviour. Left the system in August 1970 with my parents and family in
Cardiff. Married to Rosanne (nee Walker) originally from Rushden,
Northants, daughter of Richard Walker, originally from Leicester.
Would be glad to hear from anyone genuinely seeking the Lord's mind and
direction.

Date & Comments: 3/4/98 I was blessed with finding a wonderful man who left the PB's in the
70's. His wife of 28 years left him & her 2 daughters to stay with the PB's. The x wife
does not have any contact with her children. I think this is so very sad. I always
believed being a Christian brought families closer together not drew them apart. After
reading this site, I now have a better understsanding of what my husband went through all
those years. I am the lucky one! I have a wonderful husband and 2 wonderful step
daughters that anyone would be proud to call their own. Too bad for the PB's not to have
allowed thesse people to be themselves. Any church would be delighted to have them. It
is hard for me to believe a person could get caught up in this cult. Life is a wonderful
thing and should be enjoyed by everyone. One should be free to explore and not be shut
up in this cult like prison.

Date & Comments: March 9 1998 God has been gracious to heal us from all that went
on in the brethren. We continue to serve him and meet with many
Christians without all the exclusivism that we grew up in. I am
convinced that this is one of the worst cults in existence today,
partly because of its secretiveness. Read any good books on the
signs of a cult and this group fits! May God lead some of these poor
people out of this terrible system and free them up so they can
serve Him. Anyone may feel free to contact me at my e-mail address.

Date & Comments: 15th March. I have just been talking to my nephew Gavin Mytton who has finally
completely made the break from the Taylorites in Washington, Tyne and Wear. He has managed
to find a flat to share with a friend. He first tried to leave 18 months ago. If anyone
knows him - especially anyone of his age (19) he would appreciate contact. He has some good
friends in Washington but none were ever in the brethren. I have heard from a number of sources
that there are a lot of young people trying to leave - if they are trying to contact relatives
or old friends this web site might help if their names are posted. There are enough of us
around the world to offer support to these young people who will find it particulary
difficult to adjust.
