Just popping in to say hello, but don't want to read too much. I can't bear to any more, but I hope that the devils don't shut the site down. I am totally 'non-church' now, but still believe in Jesus. Anyone that wants to contact me can through Warren McAlpin - he has my email, but I don't wanna talk about EBs.

Good luck / bless ya or whatever.

Hello Anita Sergeant and Narelle Dowsing (Pilcher). Many years ago I remember John and Ernie Pilcher (perhaps your uncles?)
I went to their parent's place at Pilchers Bridge for dinner with my sister and her husband Ernie Perryman (Nyahwest) and I remember the Myrtle Creek meeting room. John Pilcher married Mary Williams. They left the peebs and ended up with a B&B at Castlemaine. Mary died last year. I have seen lots of names I remember in this guestbook. I came from Melbourne and left the peebs about 1960. Kind regards to you... Ivan

I just wanted to say hello to my ex-eb's and to thank you folks that bravely provide this site and sites like it. There was a time when I needed some help, some advice, and wisdom from exeb's and it was a site like this that allowed me to work thru some bad stuff. My thanks and love go out to Jill M, Dick W, Rod W of Oz and of course TT for all they've done for me and peole just like me.

I have just read Michael Bachelard's book "Behind The Exclusive Brethren" and encourage all to check it out. For me, this book provided great info on how things have changed (and stayed the same ) since I was kicked out in 1974. However, I had little idea of the massive shifts with regard to cult schools, political involvement and of course the money. I believe it's been about the money for a long, long time...I can remember doing a little math at our care meetings as well as witnessing the private cash donations made by family..it was big then...now it is absolutely huge!

But it's the schools that give me such fear; fear for the children who will now be comletely cut off from reality. I can recall that going to regular school was so fantastic for me; to see some normalcy and interact with "worldly" folk. I was heartened by judgements made in Courts that decried the system and warned of the production of a whole generation of people ill equipped to deal rationally with regular life.

It's great to be free though and I am thankful for that freedom. How I wish all could be free from this devastating organisation. To any EB that's networked enabled: Run! Run soon! There are wonderful people all over the globe that can help you. Not just ex-eb's either, but other kindly "worldly" people too.

Love Russ

I was raised in "the meeting" which is what we called ourselves at that time in Ohio. Was "withdrawn from" in 1975 at the age of 19. My whole family was eventually kicked out....as my momma still says, it had to be the dear Lord Jesus who delivered us from the meeting because we were entrenched and she couldn't see a way out that wouldn't split her and my dad's marriage (wasn't an option for her). I just found this site yesterday and it's haunting to see the reality of the years spent in EB put down on paper. Most of the entries I see here are from Europe and Australia. Are there still groups that meet in the midwest states of the United States? I see an entry name of Ewing-we knew many Ewings both in Knoxville, TN and in New Jersey. Please, those who are suffering-do keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus for he is a personal Savior. Don't know that I would have ever have come to know Him there. My prayers are with those separated from their loved ones. Mary Ann

STRIKE 1
The EB' lost on the DA for a 6 lot subdivision in Lisarow NSW Australia.
However they have lodged 2 more DA's for
1. a 600 seat suposed Church
2. a 800 seat bigger version church?
Churches my ----, as they are not open to all to come in as in the bible.
Yes whatever they do inside has nothing to do with Gods teachings or they would welcome ALL races, creed or colour with open arms to their services in this "church"..
According to their 11th Commandment "we shall tell lies".
Yes there was 10!!
Why? because Mr Neil Kennard and Mr Trimmer told us the big development was never discussed with Gosford Council, according to written information it was..LIE #1.
According to the latest Development Applications (DA's) these so called churches will only be utilised 2 or 3 times a year.
Why? when it says in the good book "the way to the Lord is always open".
A open church is one way in my opinion.
For how many millions of dollars???
Why waste money on something that has so little use?
Give it to the needy.
Wake up you poor simple minded people who can't think for yourselves, there is more to life in giving than receiving.
After all this is what your "elect vessel" is doing making a fortune out of simple minded people who should think and wake up to themselves.
LIVE YOU OWN LIFE, SEE WHAT THE REAL WORLD OFFERS YOU.
or as said often today GET A REAL LIFE.
Your "Elect Vessel" is only a modern day Adolf Hitler.
In the real world there is only ONE (1) GOD and his name is not HAYLES.
Life is too short to be controlled by the "Hayles EB Cult Army".
You too should object to such money wasting by your so called "church".
Check out our website at www.lisarowraid.com for the latest information on the EB's in this very sensitive rural area of NSW Australia.

I haven't come to the guest book in a while and surprised at the fewness of messages.
Can anyone enlighten me on what I recently heard that Bruce Hales is taking over businesses. Especially any that might be having a financial problem which he is willing to support.
It sounds like the days of the old comercial community that his father John Hales and uncle Bruce Hales were putting into activity back about 1964 at the time of the Dorking meetings. When JTJr. got wind of it after his illness about 1967, he put an end to it and John and Bruse were put out of fellowship for a while. They got back and now the old thing is taking off again. It's just a subtle way to capture the unsusspecting.
I would be glsd to hear from anyone who can shed light on this.

Hi all,

I have enjoyed looking at this website over the last few days or so. My parents left the Jim Taylor Junior brethren in 1970. They were married only a matter of weeks before the split! My mother (Elizabeth, born 1949) was a White of Merton Park, South West London - her siblings Michael, Andrew, David and Julia unfortunately all stayed in and it also divided her parents too. My father (born 1945) was brought up in Startford-Upon-Avon and then moved with his parents in the early 1960's to Surbition (South West London). If anyone remembers any of my family or relatives it would be interesting to hear from you.

I actually saw my Uncle Michael and Aunt Julia for the first time in my life last week (I am 30). They are still in, and all one can do is pray that they see the light and the error of their ways.

The inspired word of God would help us to see what is right from wrong. Indeed, it was the early brethren who felt it was wrong to be part of the clerical system (a form of leadership). We are to have leaders (plural, unnamed without titles etc), but they should want to act in humility and to not be made much of.

It has been interesting to read the experiences of many in the guest book. The Legal way of things (The Law) was a thing that the Jew's were under and needed to heed. Because of the Lord's work on the Cross, we now have freedom, but need to come under His sway and do as He would have His own to do. The doctrine of the brethren (Taylor brethren) prior to 1959, I believe to be mainly right and in awcordance with Scripture. The one man, "we are the position", the isolation instead of the Biblical principle of separation and other things brought us to where they are today and the much scattering and weakness that has resulted - surely a governmental consequence of what people went along with for so long.

Apologies for my essay when I was only invited to sign! But just saying what's on my mind! With much love in our Lord Jesus to all.

Tim

Hello everyone!

Our family lived in Clapton and attended the meetings there in the 60's - Graham Frost and his family also attended! My grandparents hailed from Folkestone where I met James Taylor and his family - brother Timothy (died of leukaemia in the 60's), Andrew and sister Ruth.

We left in 1970 (jumped, not pushed!)

I would especially like to know what became of my cousin Karen whose mother, my aunt Ruby, later married Edward French from Luton. They stayed with the more extreme branch after the great split of the early 70's.

Spent most of my life with the Renton brethren. Glad to have a wider outlook on other christians and be guided by the lord not man.
I do not believe there will be separate areas for different christians in heaven.
The big world is full of many lovely christians, pleased to have met them, in europe and the Caribbean. Trust in God and he will assist you in your new life.
From Poole Dorset, and Ayr scotland.

This is going to sound bizarre, but I met David Tchappat at the railway station on NYE 2009/10 and helped him with a ticket machine. I just want to apologise publically if I upset him and his girlfriend, and it genuinely wasn't intentional. I have no idea if he reads this forum or anyone who knows him can pass on my apology.

For the record, he was really sweet and his girlfriend was just gorgeous
:) We briefly discussed an old friend of his, and if he wants to know how to make contact with him, I can tell him how.

Once again, I'm terribly sorry for upsetting them.

Michelle

Hello
I was thrown out in 1985 and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. It set me free, allowed me to choose what made ME happy rather than trying to fit in or please others constantly. I have used the experience to help others who have gone through loss and trauma in their lives. I have worked as a professional therapist for 20 years now helping others to let go of the past and feel good about the future.
All the best to you all
Peter

Brethren taking over.
The EB's are doing exactly what was predicted in Lisarow,NSW,Australia where they bought firstly a large 10acre property, then a house opposite and NOW 2 more homes right next door.
The valley has only 1 road which is a dead end and yes its looking like a comune, exclusive for the EB's is well in the planning.
Gosford Council was warned that this could be their hidden agenda but would not listen to the rate payers.
I was told what the EB wants they get thru lies and deceit HOW BLOODY TRUE.
In the old days they would run people of their calibre out of town at the end of a gun and thats what we should all do.
Stop them NOW from making their exclusive sect suburb (Brethrenville?) support Lisarow RAID and check out our website.
Run them out of Lisarow once and for all.

I have recently moved down to Plymouth, Devon, and was wondering if there were any 'original' brethren here. I don't know how far I can go without being 'politically incorrect' as I have been out of it for so long I have no idea what the different groups call themselves.

This is perhaps the wrong place to ask as everyone here seems to be escaping from any P.B. connections. Maybe just someone out there might know.

Hi everyone and keep up the good work, sometime ago I wrote in this guest book and was delighted by those that got in contact hence this request. Just recently after many years I have been in contact with an old family friend who was with us in the EB 60s and early 70s from Ashford kent, Canterbury circuit of the southeast of England Chris Atkins.
Chris is still recovering from some serious heath issues but would love to hear from any of his old mates or friends that remember his family from those days, many after the 1970 incident he lost contact with.
Some of your might remember his Grand Father Mr Atkins senior who regurlary took on the visting big noises from New York on the evil of the system to the horror of the local big wigs, but to the delight to some or us, thank God for people like that who kept many of us sane and did not allow them to brain wash us all.
If any you out there remembers Chris and the Atkins family and would like to make contact, if you would contact me in the first instance i will past on your details to Chris as he current has no access to a computer. I pray that this site will continue and the good work it does to tell the world of this great sadness this cult is and does, and has affected so many lives, God bless you all.

I can say 'amen' to John Will's testimony. Since leaving the Peebs I have found life - true life in Jesus Christ. He is my All, and I owe everything to Him including setting me free from them and their bondage. I now experience peace and joy since I completely surrendered my life to Jesus. I took Jesus into my heart when I was 10 years old, but was riddled with feelings of guilt until God set me free. Please, readers, cling to Jesus even if you have had a hard time.

To Craig entry 871
I was appalled by your entry. How can these people call themselves Christian when they are going totally against Christ's teaching of love, acceptance and inclusiveness?
As anyone who is reasonably well informed will know, being gay is not a matter of choice, but something one is born with, like having red hair or being left-handed.
Unfortunately the bible has been used to condone the Crusades, the Inquisition, slavery, racial discrimination and the subordination of women. We have, thankfully moved on from these horrors and inevitably, hopefully soon,we will move on regarding homosexuality.
If we took every thing we read in the bible literally, we would still be killing our teenage children for answering back!! (Deut.) And please don't be influenced by the "hate the sin, love the sinner" rubbish. It is not a sin; it is the state you were born into--our sexual orientation is God-givenas are all other aspects of our humanity.
You plan to publish is a very good one. The more publicity this evil system gets the better.

A headline from the Mail on Sunday newspaper here in the UK last Sunday that made me smile:
"Seip sinks Plymouth Brethren."
Apparently Marcel Seip playing for Blackpool scored against his old club Plymouth, to the detriment of his former teammates at Plymouth as Blackpool won the game 2-0, so sinking his Plymouth brethren!
I would like to hear from any ex EB's involved in League or non league football in the UK, either as a player, official, director or in management. I am involved at Eastleigh Football Club in the Conference South.
Regards Paul Murray. Left in 1969.
