former member of the EB, David, who is in the big brother house certainly to me if different. He is used to watching is Ps & Qs, and is very sensible. I do hope all goes well for him. In a late show about BB, it was mentioned that a lot of people are waiting for him to talk about his past life, and after being in the house for a week or so, this does not appear to be happening. If David does talk, it will be very interesting indeed to hear what he has to say.

An Ex EB! And by far the best move ever made!

If our Lord intented our "rules" to get us into heaven, he'd have made a RULE BOOK. He didn't! He gave us our Bible a path to following and a loving tender Saviour to comfort us ... With rules, you may as well attempt to build another tower of Babble!

I am saved by grace, are you?

Just found peebs.net. I left EB's in 1987 from Swindon. I have completely lost touch with everyone as I left on my own. I lost my faith trying to come to terms with my position, having been told that I could not sleep with my wife or eat with my children. Especially when I was told 5 years ago, that EB's had made a mistake in the way they dealt with me. I would be interested to hear from anyone from Swindon or Chippenham.

I have been researching the teachings and lifestyles of Christian denominations in Australia for many years. Because of the EB's practice of separation from "worldlies" almost all information gathered about the Brethren has been from internet sources - very little from current EB members. I am trying to contact a Trevor Hill. I believe he lives in Queensland and runs a hardware business. I understand Trevor left the Brethren several years ago. I have read his very informed story placed on the net some time ago - but the site now appears to have been closed. I would be grateful if anyone could supply Trevor Hill's contact details.
I would also welcome comments from anyone who has left the Brethren more recently, since Bruce Hales became leader. In particular, I would like to know how the ordinary "rank and file" members feel about all the, as they would see it, adverse media coverage about their church and whether they feel helpless in being able to defend their organisation in some way.
Please feel free to email any comments in this regard or about anyone you know in the Brethren (names not necessary)who are wishing they could leave but feel that staying might be the lesser of two evils.

My father in law John Gibbs, always spoke about this site and was outraged with the news that it may be closed down. My Fil (father in law) as i called him, died tragically in a light aircraft crash on Easter weekend with his brother in law, Brian. They will both be sorely missed by family and friends but what I wanted to say, is that through the time of grieving, what became clear to me were the many people he helped when they left the Peebs. He supported them, guided them and most importantly helped them to not reject religion, but to have faith in God and stay true to their Christian values. Dad, you will be missed, but through your example you have helped so many people - Rest in peace!

Its great to have the guest book back once again! I am amazed at the brethrens change of rules regarding the use of computers mobile phones and so on.I understand that they feel the Lord has turned a corner so these things are now allowed. What happened to the hymn which we all loved to sing 'Great is thy faithfulness which says, there is NO shadow of turning with thee !!!!!!!!!I think we turn the corners when it suits us The Lord NEVER.

Thanx a million!!

Anthony Marsh, don't know if you know Kevin Marsh? Got on really well with him before I got the boot back in 2004. Hey to everyone who knows me, to those who don't and want to, feel free to email me. I have no gripe with peebs and what they stand for, I've learnt to put the hate behind me, I now just feel a certain disappointment.. in many ways.

I just read "Don't call me sister" and started thinking of all my old friends.
My wife (Myrtle 'Mert' Miller of Des Moines) and I (Rochester,NY) left the EB in 1958.
I have just looked through the Guestbook and saw many familiar family names from the past.
Married in 1955, have 4 children, 7 grandkids, and 1 and 1/2 great grandkids.
Would like to hear from anyone.

I left the PBs in 1984 (aged 17). Used to be part of the Bexley/Sidcup brethren. I would love my nephews and nieces to know that I will always be there for them if they want to leave or need to talk to someone on the outside. My parents are Edward and Barbara Whiteman, and my PB siblings are Clive and Mervyn Whiteman and Sharon (Sherry I think she is called now) Welsh, now in Columpton in Devon. Happy to talk to/mail anyone else who knows me too!

I've been out of the Exclusives since 1970 and am still amazed at how much bitterness and resentment remains among my many friends whose lives were damaged by being born and raised among them. Ideas and actions evidently have long term consequences. For those of us reaching mid-life and old age, it is difficult not to resent the lost family, relatives, friends, and social and intellectual freedoms denied us by the twisted ideology of the Exclusives. However, no ex-Peeb that I've met has ever viewed their exit from the cult as anything but a continuing liberation from shackles of oppression. Happy 2008.

I am putting a notice on here of the death of my great Uncle, David Harding of Copenhagen, onetime of The Gallop, in Sutton. I believe that he died on 27th December - I got the news about 10th hand as one does in these trying circumstances.

He was the last surviving son of Percy Harding of South Croydon.
May he rest in peace till he rises in glory.
